Eric Frangenheim

The OMMA invited Eric Frangenheim, author of the Innovative Teachers Companion to speak to our group of middle managers today. He reminded us of the importance of offering our students 'nutrition' as opposed to just 'filling the air'. It was great to come back to the importance of Blooms Taxonomy as a framework for considering the purpose of the teaching. He invited us to ask ourselves what level of the taxonomy am I asking my students to act like now? His challenge was for school leaders to coach teachers to consider this regularly to ensure that we are doing more than simply 'filling the air'.
